Raj Setty, P.E., CxA, LEED AP, serves as President and Principal of Setty & Associates International (SETTY), a D.C.-based engineering firm specializing in providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services for high-performing buildings.
Since starting SETTY in 2002, Setty has grown the company from a fledgling organization of five employees into a thriving firm with offices in D.C., Baltimore, Atlanta, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, and India.
Today, SETTY employs more than 150 highly-trained engineers, architects, and CAD designers and maintains a diverse client base of between 150 and 200 active clients with over 30 different universities and 25 school districts. Projects range from a new $1B state-of-the-art ferry terminal to campus dormitory buildings to formulating COVID-19 renovations for a large Federal Agency.
Setty serves on the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force on the Schools team, which was established to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and provide guidance on ensuring that buildings are prepared for future epidemics. The task force has provided the official Design Guidance for Education Facilities: Prioritizing for Advanced Indoor Air Quality – a guidance that has been adopted by the EPA, White House, and CDC. Setty is a 1992 graduate of UC Davis (B.S. Mechanical Engineering).
Established by the United States Congress, NIBS’ mission is to serve the public interest by advancing building science and technology to improve the built environment.
