Audrey McGarrell is the Communications Manager of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings objective and scientific information related to cool surfaces to critical discussions and informed decisions about the impacts of heat islands, extreme heat, and energy use in the built environment.
McGarrell manages the CRRC’s Education Committee and supports education and outreach by developing educational resources and speaking at events for building product manufacturing industries and end-users. She also oversees the CRRC’s public relations, social media, and other marketing/communications activities. She previously managed the CRRC Technical Committee, Wall Committee, and the launch and early operation of the CRRC Wall Rating Program.
Prior to joining the CRRC in 2021, McGarrell worked in the building product certification industry, managing quality assurance programs for steel framing and other products. She holds a B.A. in Spanish, Master of Public Administration, and LEED Green Associate.
Established by the United States Congress, NIBS’ mission is to serve the public interest by advancing building science and technology to improve the built environment.
